Being that many of the clubs surrounding Edmonton weren’t able to form competitive Open AA teams, and that there was a large number of younger athletes moving up within the Edmonton Ringette Club, a second team needed to be formed to accommodate these players. The Edge was created to give these athletes the opportunity to continue to play at a competitive level consistent with their abilities.

The team is made up of 16 players from Edmonton, St. Albert and Spruce Grove, with wide ranging experiences and unique personalities. Some have played for Team Canada or at a continued level of AA competition, while others have returned to the sport after many years away, having started families and pursued other goals. Although many of them have competed against each other in the past, they now play together as a team, having forged strong friendships and memories that will last a lifetime!
